This is a senior, high-impact role sitting at the heart of a major technology transformation programme, with immediate accountability for the Accounting & Tax (A&T) technology estate across multiple countries. The successful candidate will bring a strong consulting pedigree — ideally ex-MBB or Big-4 — with deep domain knowledge of Accounting and Tax practice areas and a proven track record of leading enterprise technology transformation in complex, multi-country professional services environments.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, the Technology Transformation Lead will own the A&T technology roadmap end-to-end, driving AI and automation adoption, rationalising the application estate, and ensuring coherent, compliant technology delivery across all jurisdictions. The role requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution capability, with direct oversight of A&T product managers and key vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Roadmap
- Develop a forward-looking, competitive A&T technology roadmap informed by market and technology trends
- Ensure the roadmap supports increased revenue, improved margin, consistent delivery outcomes and the launch of new go-to-market offerings
- Represent A&T requirements in the development of the firm’s client portal strategy
AI & Automation
- Drive the implementation of AI and automation across A&T service lines
- Drive the consistent adoption and effective usage of A&T solutions across the business
- Lead initiatives for continuous process improvement and increased automation
Product & Vendor Management
- Oversee A&T product managers in the selection, implementation and integration of technology solutions that meet the needs of A&T and its clients
- Lead solution selection exercises, contractual negotiations and ongoing vendor management
- Ensure compatibility and integration across A&T applications and adherence to internal governance requirements
Application Estate & Governance
- Rationalise and consolidate the A&T application estate, ensuring value-for-money solution selection
- Act as a control point within the A&T community to reduce duplicative functionality across solutions and countries
- Maintain country-level A&T application landscapes, providing a singular view of technology setup by country — including subcontractor locations
- Support countries in designing solution estates that meet local compliance and operational requirements whilst minimising complexity
- Provide oversight and assurance across major A&T technology programmes, ensuring scope, budget and plan are well-managed and outcomes delivered
Ideal Candidate Background & Experience
- Ex-consulting background from MBB or Big-4, with deep expertise in Accounting and Tax practice areas
- Proven experience leading technology transformation programmes in a professional services environment
- Strong understanding of AI, automation and enterprise application strategy
- Experience managing complex, multi-country technology estates
- Track record of vendor management, solution selection and contract negotiation
- Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across a global, matrixed organisation
