Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end process for issuing and receiving cash advances from the central cash float, ensuring all movements are accurately recorded and controlled
- Maintain and administer the cash management workflow, ensuring timely processing, appropriate approvals, and adherence to internal controls
- Prepare and submit expense transfer documentation for approval, covering transfers between individuals and between individuals and regional offices
- Act as a key point of contact to investigate, resolve, and follow up on expense transfer queries and discrepancies using the finance system
- Perform ongoing reconciliation of an international cashflow, providing interim financial oversight where required
- Produce and distribute a weekly commissioning and story spend report, maintaining accurate year-to-date tracking of costs
- Provide a high-level summary of expenditure to senior management, highlighting key variances, trends, and potential overspend risks
- Work closely with editorial and operational teams to confirm staff assignments, locations, and deployment dates for specific projects or stories
- Respond to staff and freelancer expense-related queries, directing them to the appropriate finance support channels where applicable
- At the conclusion of the assignment, deliver practical recommendations and observations to support improvements to existing financial systems and workflows
