Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and applications
  • Automate cloud provisioning using Terraform and/or ARM templates
  • Manage source control, branching and release workflows using Git and Azure DevOps
  • Implement secure secrets management through Azure Key Vault or equivalent tools
  • Monitor system health, performance and availability and configure automated alerts
  • Collaborate with developers to integrate DevOps practices into the SDLC
  • Implement automated security and compliance controls including vulnerability scanning
  • Optimise Azure environments for stability, cost control and performance
  • Diagnose and resolve issues affecting pipelines, deployments and cloud services
  • Produce and maintain clear, high-quality documentation across platforms and processes

Key Skills:

  • Experience working within DevOps or cloud delivery environments
  • Proven ability to work with Microsoft Azure cloud services
  • Strong practical experience in CI/CD automation and Azure DevOps
  • Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform and ARM templates
  • Strong scripting capability using Bash and PowerShell
  • Understanding of foundational networking concepts including VNETs, subnets and NSGs
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor
  • Awareness of DevOps security principles, including secrets management and vulnerability scanning
  • Skilled in using Visual Studio Code for development, debugging and configuration
  • Familiar with linting, formatting, Git integration and YAML pipeline editing
  • Experience with Dev Containers or remote development environments

Overview

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support critical delivery programmes within a rapidly evolving technology environment. The role is key to enabling fast, secure and reliable deployment of applications and infrastructure on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. You will work closely with development and operations teams to drive DevOps best practice, automate cloud provisioning, improve CI/CD processes, and ensure resilient, secure and cost-optimised cloud delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong practical experience in CI/CD automation and Azure DevOps
  • Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform and ARM templates
  • Strong scripting capability using Bash and PowerShell
  • Understanding of foundational networking concepts including VNETs, subnets and NSGs
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor

  • VS Code Proficiency
  • Skilled in using Visual Studio Code for development, debugging and configuration

  • Experience with Dev Containers or remote development environments

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on Azure Portal experience
  • Broader knowledge of Azure DevOps components including Boards, Repos and Artifacts
  • Strong Git proficiency and understanding of version control best practice
  • Experience building CI/CD architectures for complex or enterprise systems
  • Background supporting cloud-native or large-scale DevOps environments
