Electronics & Instrumentation Technician

Peterborough - Fully Onsite
£25.00 - £25.65 per hour
12-Month Contract (Likely Extension)

We're recruiting for an Electronics & Instrumentation Technician to join a leading engineering and R&D facility in Peterborough.

This is a hands-on role supporting advanced test and development programmes, offering exposure to calibration, fault-finding, preventative maintenance, instrumentation, and facility upgrade projects.

Key Responsibilities


  • Calibration and maintenance of precision instrumentation

  • Fault finding and breakdown support

  • Building and upgrading instrumentation panels

  • Preventative maintenance of test equipment and facilities

  • Reading and interpreting electrical and electronic schematics

  • Supporting equipment upgrades and commissioning activities


What We're Looking For


  • Electrical/Electronic apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience

  • Experience with calibration, instrumentation, and fault finding

  • Ability to read electrical/electronic drawings and schematics

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Team player with a proactive attitude and strong attention to detail


Desirable


  • HNC in an Engineering discipline

  • Test facility or test cell experience

  • 18th Edition knowledge

  • Root Cause Analysis experience
