Summary: The Finance Director, Operations role involves overseeing and optimizing finance operations for a global Media brand, reporting directly to the CFO in the Netherlands. The position requires collaboration with senior leadership and operational teams to ensure effective financial execution and compliance. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in finance within the Media or SaaS sectors, along with a proven track record in team management. Key responsibilities include financial execution, cash flow management, risk compliance, and leadership development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and oversee day-to-day finance operations across local teams and centralized shared service providers.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain high standards of financial reporting quality and consistency across the organization.
  • Partner with treasury and operational stakeholders to forecast, monitor, and optimize cash flow and working capital.
  • Drive delivery of key working capital and liquidity KPIs.
  • Identify, develop, and execute cost efficiency and productivity initiatives across finance and operations.
  • Design, maintain, and operate a strong internal control environment aligned with group policies and accounting standards.
  • Own internal and external audit readiness, including coordination, issue resolution, and remediation.
  • Proactively identify operational, financial, and compliance risks and implement mitigation actions.
  • Lead finance system implementations, upgrades, and automation initiatives.
  • Standardize, document, and improve finance processes to support scalability, growth, and acquisitions.
  • Improve data quality, transparency, and reporting capabilities across finance operations.
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to operations, account management, and project leadership teams.
  • Translate financial results into actionable operational insights in partnership with FP&A.
  • Enable faster, better decision-making through enhanced visibility, analytics, and reporting.
  • Lead, develop, and scale high-performing finance operations teams across multiple locations.
  • Build leadership depth through coaching, succession planning, and capability development.
  • Set clear performance expectations, accountability, and development goals.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and integrity.

Key Skills:

  • 10 years of relevant finance experience, ideally within media, advertising, or similar SaaS or project-based environments.
  • Strong finance operations background with deep knowledge of controls, compliance, and reporting.
  • Proven experience leading transformation, process improvement, and systems initiatives.
  • Strong executive communication skills and stakeholder influence.
  • Experience with large ERP or consolidation systems is a plus.
  • Professional accounting qualification (RA, ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Fluent in English.

Finance Operations Director

Altum consulting are supporting a global Media brand to recruit a Finance Director, Operations to oversee and optimize end-to-end finance operations within a complex and growing Media brand. The role reports directly into the Netherlands CFO and partners closely with wider group senior leadership and operational teams to ensure strong financial execution, effective controls, scalable processes, and high-quality decision support.

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience within Media or SaaS, acquisition or merger exposure and have proven capability in managing teams of 6 people.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Operations & Financial Execution

  • Own and oversee day-to-day finance operations across local teams and centralized shared service providers.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain high standards of financial reporting quality and consistency across the organization.

Cash Flow, Working Capital & Cost Management

  • Partner with treasury and operational stakeholders to forecast, monitor, and optimize cash flow and working capital.
  • Drive delivery of key working capital and liquidity KPIs.
  • Identify, develop, and execute cost efficiency and productivity initiatives across finance and operations.

Controls, Risk & Compliance
