Financial Accountant
Financial Accountant 45-50K Central London (6 month FTC) Halliday Marx have partnered with a rapidly growing media business to hire a Financial Accountant on an interim basis for 6 months. Hybrid working (3 days in the office)
Responsibilities
Ownership of the monthly management accounts process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across multiple cost centres and revenue streams
Preparation of detailed profit & loss statements, with clear commentary on performance vs budget and prior periods
Full responsibility for accruals, prepayments, and journals, ensuring costs and revenues are recognised correctly
Delivery of insightful variance analysis, identifying key drivers across campaigns, projects, and client accounts
Partnering with client services and project teams to track campaign performance, revenue recognition, and profitability
Supporting the production of budgets and forecasts, working closely with department heads to challenge assumptions and improve accuracy
Providing commercial insight into project margins, utilisation rates, and billable vs non-billable time
Monitoring and analysing revenue streams, including retainer-based, project-based, and performance-driven income
Assisting with cash flow forecasting, including tracking client payments and supplier commitments
Working closely with the wider finance team to ensure balance sheet integrity and resolve any discrepancies
Supporting year-end processes and audit, including preparation of schedules and responding to auditor queries
Collaborating with non-finance teams to improve financial awareness and understanding of key metrics
