This is a critical senior leadership role, sitting within the operational management team, with responsibility for a broad portfolio including Environmental Health, Community Safety, Parking Services, and wider neighbourhood quality functions. The postholder will provide both strategic direction and operational leadership, ensuring services deliver strong outcomes for residents while driving performance, transformation, and financial sustainability.

Candidate profile
We are looking for an experienced senior leader who:
- Has a strong track record in local government or a comparable complex organisation
- Brings experience across regulatory, environmental, or community safety services
- Has led multidisciplinary teams and managed substantial budgets
- Demonstrates strong political awareness and stakeholder engagement skills
- Is confident delivering change and improving service performance at pace
This role would suit candidates currently operating at Head of Service / Assistant Director level.
