Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a range of commercial contracts.
- Assisting in the development of customer contracting processes and precedents.

- Assisting on contentious matters and maintaining the global litigation register.

The Group Legal function is headquartered out of London and is comprised of three teams of lawyers located in our London, US and Hong Kong offices. The Group Legal team is a collaborative group of talented problem solvers who know how to get things done quickly and effectively. They work collectively to mitigate risk and provide quality legal support for the group in a smooth, scalable and customer-centric way.
The Role: We are offering an opportunity for a diligent and proactive lawyer to join this business as Legal Counsel on a 12 month FTC. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues across the company, providing practical, business-focused legal advice on a diverse range of issues including: commercial and contractual matters; data privacy; terms & conditions of sale; and other legal matters pertinent to our international business. You will actively engage with business teams and support functions to build strong relationships and deliver relevant legal advice within a dynamic, innovative, and growing business environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Commercial Contracts: Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing a range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, master services agreements, licences and contract terms and conditions for customers. Assisting in development of their customer contracting processes and precedents. There is also the opportunity to support the business with advice about new digital products, sectors and launches into new markets.
- Corporate: Advising on joint ventures, partnerships and collaborations, including cross-border matters.
- IP: Supporting brand strategies and the protection of intellectual property rights.
- Disputes: assisting where necessary on contentious matters and ensuring that their global litigation register is regularly updated for auditing purposes.
- Data privacy, Cyber, and AI: Drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and advising more generally on data privacy matters. Maintaining and developing standards, policies and processes relating to data privacy in collaboration with Group Legal colleagues. Ensuring compliance with the evolving Cyber Security and AI policies, and that it extends to relevant contracts and processes.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations and supporting the Group General Counsel more generally with regard to risk, training and compliance matters.
- General in-house responsibilities: Working cross-functionally with colleagues, including in adjacent support functions, to design and implement customer-centric solutions for the business and to ensure agreements are consistent with internal standards and processes. Provide accurate, timely, practical and commercially focused legal advice to Clarion stakeholders. Managing the expectations of internal clients and communicating on a timely basis with all Clarion stakeholders.

We are seeking someone with; Excellent legal skills and professionally qualified in the UK or common law jurisdiction with high-quality post-qualification experience. We are seeking minimum of 4 years PQE but could suit someone with experience as senior legal counsel too due to the breadth and complexity of legal matters In-house experience is advantageous, but not a pre-requisite. Strong communication and influencing skills, solutions oriented and pragmatic mindset. Outstanding analytical, organizational, negotiation, and contract drafting skills. Appetite for learning and mastering new legal issues quickly. A ‘can-do’ attitude, willing to undertake all legal matters that come across your desk, no matter how small. A hands-on, pragmatic self-starter who can work independently, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines. Ability to travel, where necessary.
