Summary: An experienced Network Engineer is needed to support and enhance a critical IP network environment, focusing on business-as-usual operations, incident resolution, and ongoing improvements. The role involves operational support for enterprise IP networks, troubleshooting, and collaboration with various teams. The position is fully remote and classified as outside IR35. The contract duration is 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational support for enterprise IP networks, including LAN and WAN environments.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routing and switching technologies (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, MPLS).
- Perform deep-dive fault analysis to resolve complex network incidents and performance issues.
- Support planned network changes, upgrades, and optimisations in line with change management processes.
- Monitor network performance and capacity, identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
- Work closely with other infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to support end-to-end service delivery.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and configuration records.
- Engage with vendors and service providers as required to resolve issues.
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of IP networking and TCP/IP fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience operating production networks using BGP and OSPF.
- Solid routing and switching experience in enterprise or service-provider environments.
