Summary: The Senior Buyer role focuses on procurement within a retail environment, specifically managing sourcing activities for elements that enhance customer interaction with products. The role is hybrid, requiring two days per week on-site in Gaydon, and is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all global and relevant local sourcing activities for the retail environment category
- Manage end-to-end procurement including project delivery, cost benchmarking, and contract management
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships across a global supply base
- Drive strategic category development with a strong focus on sustainability
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure delivery against business objectives
- Ensure commercial value, quality, and consistency across the global retailer network
Key Skills:
- Buyer with 3 years' experience purchasing goods
- Strong commercial awareness with proven negotiation capability
- Experience working with global stakeholders and excellent communication skills
- Solid understanding of category management principles
- Strong internal and external relationship management skills
- Flexible, agile, and comfortable adapting to changing priorities
- Previous experience in retail procurement (desirable)
- Project management capability (desirable)
- Degree and/or CIPS preferred but not essential
