Summary: The Senior Data Science Practitioner role involves leading the design and delivery of AI/ML-driven solutions to enhance business decision-making. This position requires a hands-on expert capable of guiding teams while actively participating in model development and deployment. The practitioner will shape AI/ML strategy and integrate advanced analytics into business processes. The role is hybrid, based in Glasgow, and focuses on delivering measurable business outcomes through data science initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models that support business decision-making and deliver measurable value
  • Formulate AI/ML-based frameworks aligned to business objectives and operational requirements
  • Act as a technical SME, guiding design decisions and providing hands-on expertise across projects
  • Lead and influence data science teams, ensuring high-quality delivery and effective collaboration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, business stakeholders) to integrate AI/ML solutions into existing platforms and workflows
  • Evaluate and validate AI/ML models and frameworks to ensure robustness, scalability, and business impact
  • Quantify, measure, and communicate the value and performance of AI/ML solutions to stakeholders
  • Contribute to architectural and strategic decisions impacting multiple teams and initiatives

Key Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Machine Learning and applied data science
  • Strong experience designing and delivering production-ready AI/ML models
  • Advanced proficiency in Data Science techniques and methodologies
  • Intermediate experience with Amazon SageMaker
  • Working knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) approaches
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in an AI/ML context
  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) concepts and practices
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical delivery with team leadership
  • Experience working across multiple teams and influencing senior technical decisions
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to deliver AI/ML solutions that drive real business impact

Senior Data Science Practitioner Contract | 12 Months

Rate: Up to £350 per day

Location: Hybrid – Glasgow

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Science Practitioner to lead the design and delivery of AI/ML-driven decision-making solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes. This role requires a hands-on subject matter expert who can operate at both a technical and strategic level , guiding teams while actively contributing to model development and deployment. You will play a key role in shaping AI/ML strategy, evaluating the value of data science initiatives, and embedding advanced analytics into business processes and systems.
