Strong knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, the Oracle storage architecture including tablespaces, datafiles, and ASM, and performance tuning at both the SQL and instance level using execution plans, ADDM, and AWR baselines is expected as a foundation. For RAC environments, detailed knowledge of the cluster interconnect, cache fusion, and RAC-specific performance considerations is essential. Data Guard configuration and failover management for high availability is widely expected for mission-critical Oracle environments. For cloud migration roles, familiarity with Oracle Data Pump for data migration, Oracle GoldenGate for zero-downtime migration, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services is increasingly required. OCA or OCP certification is well regarded and signals a solid technical Oracle foundation.
